Labeling

Roster Date Author Record
Notes on labeling 2026-06-05 pC A separate label was assigned to this layer, although it is associated with ^floor2, because it preserves footprints. The wet mud was not intended as a floor surface in its own right, but represents a stage in the construction of ^floor2. [Input: ZK626pC.j]

Designation

Definition 2026-06-05 pC mud surface [Input: ZK626pC.j]
Description (summary) 2026-06-05 pC Hard grey uneven mud surface found in the eastern portion of the plaza in front of step 1 of ^apron1. It has several human and dog foot impressions on it, meaning the surface was a mud wet layer, on which people walked on. It covers the first floor ^floor1. On the surface are some pebbles. On top of it was found a grey ashy floor ^fl3. This mud surface was probably a preparation level for the floor constructed above it. It abuts the lowest excavated step of the ^apron1.
